What is Nova Organic Energy?

We are a Belgian manufacturer of certified organic energy drinks that come in 3 delicious flavours: Orange, Lime & Elderflower, Mango, Passionfruit & Mint and Pomegranate, Blueberry & Ginger. In addition, we also produce organic herbal supplements for multiple purposes.

What makes  our energy drinks different?

The first and foremost difference is our unique herbal recipe. We decided not to use an easily available & cheap cocktail of sugar, caffeine and artificial ingredients. Instead we dedicated 2 years of our time to develop a completely new recipe based upon herbal extracts. After extensive consulting and testing, we concluded on a recipe based upon 7 herbal extracts. As a result, our drinks will let you experience pure, balanced and long-lasting energy and possibly even offer you an additional number of functional & health benefits along the way.

The second -but not less important- difference is how our drinks taste. By combining only the finest organic ingredients we succeeded in creating 3 distinctive and wonderful tasting organic drinks.

What ingredients do we use in our energy drinks?

Our drinks contain organic juice from concentrate, organic fruit extracts, natural flavourings, organic agave syrup, organic erythritol, and a holistic blend of 7 organic herbal extracts.

Is there any coffee based caffeine in our energy drinks?

No, we don't use any coffee based caffeine in our drinks. However, there is an amount of naturally occurring  caffeine present in our drinks due to the usage of guarana extract and green tea extract. The total amount of caffeine is limited to only 75mg/can (comparable to 3/4 of a cup of coffee or 2 cups of green tea).

Is there a difference between coffee based caffeine and the caffeine present in guarana?

Guarana contains guaranine, which is chemically identical to caffeine. The big difference is that Guarana also contains molecules called tannins, which causes the caffeine in guarana to release slowly, producing a long-lasting energy plateau that can last for up to 6 hours!

Is there a difference between coffee based caffeine and the caffeine present in green tea?

Although most people agree that green tea provides a milder 'buzz' then coffee, the caffeine in it is chemically identical. What makes the difference is that green tea also contains L-Theanine. The caffeine and L-theanine work together to produce sustained energy and improved brain function. Our green tea is also extremely rich in catechins, theaflavins, tannins, flavonoids and the polyphenol EGCG.

Is there no caffeine in our energy drinks due to the presence of Green Coffee Beans?

No, we use a decaffeinated green coffee bean extract. It mainly consists out of chlorogenic acid but no caffeine. Chlorogenic acid is a beneficial antioxidant and has a mild psychostimulatory effect (about ⅓ of caffeine). Additionally, it can reduce the uptake of carbohydrates and glucose during digestion, reduces food cravings, reduces daily calorie intake, and induces body fat loss by thermogenesis.

What sweeteners are being used in our energy drinks?

We  wanted our drinks to be as healthy as possible, even for people with diabetes. Therefore we used sweeteners with the lowest glycemic index and the lowest amount of calories. Organic Erythritol contains 0,24 Kcal/gram and has a Glycemic Index of 1, Organic Agave syrup contains 3,10 Kcal/gram and has a Glycemic Index of 15.

What is Organic Erythritol?

Organic Erythritol is created by the natural process of fermenting organic fruits, yeasts and/or cornstarch. Produced by microorganisms as an osmoprotectant, it is an ideal sucrose substitute for diabetics or overweight persons due to its almost zero calorie content.

How much sugar is there in our energy drinks ?

In each of our drinks the amount of sugar is limited to 4,28 grams per 100ML and 19Kcal per 100ML ensuring that all of our drinks are low calorie.

Why is there not a sugar free version available?

In the EU, it's not allowed to use natural high intensity sweeteners such as Stevia or Monk Fruit extract. This is why we don't have a 0 Kcal version of our drinks available. However, we are keeping close track on new developments and do expect to provide a 0 Kcal version in the future.

Why do we use organic juice from concentrate?

Simply because we care about the environment!

Juice from concentrate takes up less space when transported and therefore it has a lower carbon footprint.

Is 'regular juice' healthier then 'juice from concentrate'?

Not at all! Juice from concentrate is juiced from the fruit, then filtered through a processor that only extracts the water but leaves all of the nutrients, fibres and vitamins in the concentrate.

Why do our energy drinks look slightly cloudy and do they contain a small amout of sediment?

Because we only use organic ingredients in our drinks, some natural clouding and sediment will occur. Simply tip the can before you sip it and enjoy all of the healthy organic stuff inside!

Why do we use BPA-free cans?

Because we care about your health! BPA is a chemical that is often used to coat the inside of aluminum cans. It has hormone-like properties that can seep into food or beverages. Exposure to BPA could suppress a gene that is vital for the development of the central nervous system and could even cause cancer aswell as immunity problems

Our drinks are being produced and bottled in a family run company in Upper Austria. This company owns a private mineral water spring that has stood the test of time thanks to the neutral flavour, low mineralisation and not least an excellent quality.
